Winter Semi-Formal - CG Winter Dance

Step into the rhythm of winter, for you are cordially invited to CG's Semi-Formal Winter Dance Party. Bring your best moves and warm up the dance floor with us!

This is a semi-formal dance, $5 for CG members, $10 for all other homeschoolers (homeschoolers in 6th to 12th grade). A dance waiver must be filled out by parent/legal guardian upon arrival. Please make sure to read over the CG Dance bylaws and CG Dance Dress code.

Semi-Formal Dance

Girls: Dresses must be no shorter than the tip of their middle fingertips. Shorts or tights must be worn under skirts or dresses for the dance floor. No slits past the tip of their middle fingers. This applies to all layers of a gown - hi-lo hems, overlays with inner "short" skirt, etc. Gowns/dresses, must have modest bodices: no necklines and/or revealing cleavage below the natural bra line, no side, back, or front cut-outs in the dresses below the natural bra line, and no backless dresses. Strapless dresses are allowed but must follow the bodices rules above, one shoulder strap dress is allowed, if the bodice follows the above rules. Halter dresses are allowed, but must have adequate back coverage and follow above rules about neckline and cleavage.

Guys: Top must be collared, button-down worn with dress slacks or two-piece pantsuit, tie is optional. No faded or ripped jeans please.

We will have people checking dress code at the door. You are to remain in dress code throughout the dance, and you will be asked to change and/or leave if your clothing does not remain in dress code.

Safety Protocols:

-Once you enter the building, participants will remain inside until leaving. If you leave the dance, you will not be permitted back in.

-Participants that need to go out to the car will be accompanied by a chaperone.

-No outside food or drink allowed.

-No social media posting of the dance (failure to refrain from posting on social media is call for removal from dance).

-Avoid public displays of affection (examples but not limited to, kissing, caressing, extended embracing, sitting on each other’s laps. This is for students and adult volunteers. Failure to refrain is call for removal from dance).

-Keep dancing clean. No body against body and movements which could be considered provocative such as groping, dirty dancing, or twerking. Moshing and body surfing are not allowed.

-No smoking (chewing tobacco, e-cigs, vaping, smoking are not allowed), no drinking (consumption of alcoholic beverages are not allowed), no illegal drugs (street or prescribed are not allowed), no weapons (examples but not limited to, guns and knives).

-Code of Conduct violations, including disrespectful or violent behavior, along with all mentioned above, may result in expulsion from the event and any future Cottage Garden dances. Any questions, please reach out to the Director of Cottage Garden.
