"Fall" back into school with a Cottage Garden dance!
This is a casual dance for homeschoolers in 6th-12th grade. $5 for CG members, $10 for non-CG members, max of $20 per family.
The dance waiver is a review of the CG Dance bylaws and dress code, listed below. By registering your student for our CG Dance, you, the parent, and the dancer are signing the dance waiver and agreeing to comply with our CG Dance Bylaws and Dress Code.
*Online registration closes at 3:30 pm. After 3:30 pm, a parent must escort the dancer into the building and register in person when dance doors open at 5:45 pm.*
CG Casual Dress Code:
Girls: Dresses must be no shorter than the tip of their middle finger. Shorts or tights must be worn under skirts or dresses for the dance floor. No slits past the tip of their middle fingers. Dresses must have modest bodices: no necklines and/or revealing cleavage below the natural bra line, no side or front cut-outs in the dresses below the natural bra line, and no backless dresses.
Guys: Tops – Collared or Button-Down Shirt. Pants - Dress slacks or dress jeans. No faded or ripped jeans.
**CG will have people checking dress code at the door. You are to remain in dress code throughout the dance, and you will be asked to change and/or leave if your clothing does not remain in dress code.
CG Dance Safety Protocols:
-Once you enter the building, participants will remain inside until leaving. If you leave the dance, you will not be permitted back in.
-Participants that need to go out to the car will be accompanied by a chaperone.
-No outside food or drink allowed.
-No social media posting of the dance (failure to refrain from posting on social media is cause for removal from dance). *No cell phones are permitted on the dance floor to record other students. A dancer(s) will be warned once; the second time, the dancer(s) will be asked to leave the dance. In the lounge area for food & drinks, cell phones are allowed.
-Avoid public displays of affection (examples include, but are not limited to, hand holding, kissing, caressing, extended embracing, and sitting on each other’s laps. This is for students and adult volunteers. Failure to refrain is a call for removal from the dance.
-Keep dancing clean. No body-to-body contact or movements that could be considered provocative, such as groping, dirty dancing, or twerking. Moshing and body surfing are not allowed. Failure to refrain calls for removal from the dance.
-No smoking (chewing tobacco, e-cigs, vaping, and smoking are not allowed), no drinking (consumption of alcoholic beverages is not allowed), no illegal drugs (street or prescribed are not allowed), and no weapons (examples include, but are not limited to, guns and knives). Failure to refrain calls for removal from the dance.
-Code of Conduct violations, including disrespectful or violent behavior, along with all mentioned above, may result in expulsion from the event and any future Cottage Garden dances.
